What is your role at the Fund?

I perform quantitative research within the external management unit.

What do you do on a typical workday?

I construct models and analyses for ongoing monitoring of the Fund’s existing managers and those which we have approved for management but not funded. During the procurement process, there is also a lot of focus on screening the managers’ quantitative performance and developing comparative analyses with regard to risk, return, management style, etc.

What is your background?

I have 80 credits in engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Since then, I have worked with system development.

What is the biggest challenge in your job?

At the moment, there aren’t many decision support tools in this area. You have to be innovative and find new models and analyses that create a good platform for selecting the top managers.

What is the best thing about working at AP1?

A high level of expertise and professionalism that leads to continuous development.
