Organization
Första AP-fonden’ organization is made up of 5 independent investment units, 6 units for business support/risk management and staff functions for corporate governance, corporate communications and compliance.
The investment organization is characterized by decentralized decision-making, a natural consequence of the Fund’s investment philosophy built on diversification of risk. The head of each investment unit reports directly to the Managing Director.
The internal investment units are responsible for the overall allocation of investment assets and for management of the global bond portfolio, European equities and foreign exchange. For other assets, mainly non-European equities and unlisted securities, the Fund uses external managers.
Business support and risk management are handled mainly by the Fund’s own staff, since these functions are so central to the Fund’s investment process.
